On 25 January 2023, the Centre for Strategic Energy and Resources Limited (CSER) and E4SMA S.r.l. (E4SMA) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the field of energy analysis and scenario planning to support energy transition and sustainable development in ASEAN (acronym for Association of South-East Asian Nations).
Under the strategic partnership, CSER and E4SMA will bring combined decades of experience in energy systems modelling, scenario analysis, climate related policy and regulation, and other sustainability advisory activities to ASEAN. Some of the present focus areas include the implementation of energy transition journey and decarbonisation pathways and strategies for Singapore and ASEAN. Case studies that will be published from the modelling analysis will provide additional independent evidence-based policy insights to the ASEAN regional economies’ net-zero strategies.
This partnership will play a key role in the ASEAN regional capacity building in energy systems analysis for long-term strategic planning in sustainable economic development. CSER and E4SMA, both well connected with the energy analysis community, collectively enable a global platform that will facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practices through jointly organised profession events and training workshops in Singapore and ASEAN.
The MoU was signed by Dr Victor Nian, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CSER and Mr Maurizio Gargiulo, Chief Executive Officer of E4SMA.
